INTRODUCING THE SECOND TRETORN X NIGEL CABOURN COLLABORATION

After launching the first collaboration with British fashion designer Nigel Cabourn for SS20 we are now extending the collaboration for AW20. The collaboration between Tretorn and Nigel Cabourn started in 2020 and is based on a shared passion for creating garments of highest quality; functional in detail, timeless in design and showing respect to the natural environment. The second collection is inspired by vintage hiking and consists of a 3-in-1 jacket and a backpack.

"In the first collection we used cotton, a natural fabric, but for this second one we wanted to use Tretorn's type of fabric, in this case material made from fishing nets. Old fishing nets are collected from the sea, recycled and made into a fabric that is totally waterproof and sustainable which gives the pieces all of the qualities of the typical Tretorn wear”, says Nigel Cabourn.

Nigel Cabourn is a British fashion legend that has been active in the industry for over forty years. His collections are driven by inspirational stories of real people in history and vintage military, outdoor and work wear pieces.

The AW20 collaboration consists of two pieces: a jacket, or jackets as there are in fact three different jackets in one, and a backpack. The jacket includes a padded inner jacket and a thinner outer jacket which both can be worn separately or buttoned together depending on the weather and temperature. The second piece is a backpack inspired by vintage hiking rucksacks and is made to suit both everyday adventurers as well as daily commuters in the city.

Sarek has been part of Tretorn's DNA since 1972 and we have learned a lot in the collaboration with Nigel Cabourn, who also took the collection to new heights. He does not see himself as a fashion designer, but likes to create practical products that last forever, a view on sustainable fashion that we share”, says Carl-Henrik Hallén, Head of Design at Tretorn.

TRETORN X NIGEL CABOURN – PARKA

The Tretorn x Nigel Cabourn Parka is a smart 3-in-1 jacket that includes a padded inner jacket and a thinner outer jacket. The outer jacket is a black three-layered jacket made from ECONYL®, a special designed fabric made of regenerated nylon fibre from fishing nets and other consumer waste. It has four bellow pockets, a metal zip closure and a detachable padded inner jacket in an orange contrast colour, which is made from recycled polyester – including recycled padding. Both the outer and inner jacket are 100% waterproof, breathable, durable and can be worn separately or together – giving you three different options on how to wear the jacket.

TRETORN X NIGEL CABOURN - BACKPACK

The Tretorn x Nigel Cabourn Backpack has a design and construction which is inspired by vintage hiking rucksacks. The water-repellent construction is both functional and timeless – merging the iconic functionality of Tretorn products with the characteristic aesthetics of The Nigel Cabourn brand. It is free from PFC and PVC and has a lining made of recycled polyester from discarded plastic bottles. Equipped with multiple clever pockets, laptop sleeve and comfortable and adjustable padded straps, this backpack is suitable for low-pulse adventures as well as daily urban commuting.
